Lori played all her minor hockey in Cornwall, before attending the University of Toronto. She played for the University of Toronto Blues from 1991 to 1997, serving as captain for three years. She was also nominated as the University of Toronto's Female Athlete-of-the-Year in 1996 and in 1997.

Lori was inducted into the Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.

The Cornwall Sports Hall of Fame is located in the Civic Complex, overlooking the St. Lawrence River in Downtown Cornwall. The Sports Hall of Fame was created to celebrate the heritage of sport in the community, and to recognize the accomplishments and efforts of the many athletes and builders who have worked hard to promote their own individual sports.
